Goddard elementary students enjoy snow

GODDARD, Kan. (KAKE) -

These Goddard elementary students have been waiting all day to dive out of their books and into the snow.

“Snowball fight!” yelled one student.

With all the snow, who could say no? I even got hit a couple times.

"One more!" one student yelled to me before hitting me with a snowball. I responded, "Oh, that was a good one!"

The fun and games continued with a winter weather skills challenge.

"I usually do pushups while eating the snow,” said Brooklyn.

Pretty impressive, right?

And here's a tip from Brooklyn if you're thinking about trying it.

"Make sure you don't eat yellow snow!” she laughed.

With parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Wednesday, several students are excited about having an extra day off.

"It's fun to play in bad weather,” said one student. "It's mostly the most fun I've ever had."

And some are already making plans.

"Do snowball fights, make a snowman, play on the playground,” said Easton Baxa.

All things his dad Dan Baxa looks forward to.

"These are moments I can't wait to create,” said Dan.
