WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say a man was run over by a car when he tried to stop two suspects from stealing a TV from his neighbor's porch.

Officers responded at around 3:45 p.m. Thursday to an assault call in the 1800 block of North Woodrow, in the North Riverside area. A 47-year-old man told police he arrived home to find a suspect taking a package containing a TV from his next door neighbor's font porch. There was another suspect in a black car in the driveway.

"The victim approached the individuals and was struck, knocked down and run over by the black car as they were fleeing the scene," Officer Charley Davidson said.

The car, a black four-door hatchback with black wheels, was last seen heading south on Woodrow. The suspects did not get the TV.

The victim was treated for scrapes and lacerations. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Officer Davidson described the suspects as two white males, one with black hair and beard and another wearing shorts. Anyone with information or surveillance footage is asked to call WPD detectives at (316) 268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.
