Hutchinson police detective fired for unprofessional conduct

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KAKE) -

Hutchinson's police chief says a longtime detective with the department has been fired.

Det. Jamie Schoenhoff was suspended Monday and terminated Wednesday morning for unprofessional conduct, Chief Jeffrey Hooper tells the Hutch Post

Chief Hooper says an investigation was launched after a third-party complain came in Monday. He did not give specifics of the complaint or the type of misconduct that occurred, saying it was a personnel matter.

The findings of that investigation led to Schoenhoff's termination. He had been with the department for 20 years and was recently acknowledged by the city for his service.

The Post reports the Hutchinson Police Department is now 15 officers short.
