McConnell AFB destroys suspicious objects in Burden home

BURDEN, Kan. (KAKE) -- -

The McConnell AFB explosives unit spent much of the weekend in Burden, helping disarm suspicious objects found in the home of a man who'd recently passed away.

Police Chief Roger Wilt says the family asked for help after finding something that looked dangerous in the house.

While the explosives unit destroyed the items in question, police closed Main Street from First to Third Streets as a precaution.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, Cowley County Fire District #3 and Winfield Fire & EMS assisted the Burden Police Department.
