Dallas-bound flights canceled this morning

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Four flights from Wichita to Dallas were canceled this morning at Wichita's Eisenhower National Airport.

Ami Matthew and her daughter experienced two canceled flights; Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

"I'm ready to go home. I'm about to cry 'cause I just want to go home," said Matthew, who wants to go back home to Dallas. "It's not fun being stuck somewhere especially when you don't have a vehicle or anything, and family's all gone."

Dallas experienced severe thunderstorms and heavy rain on Wednesday, which caused major delays and cancellations in and out of the Dallas/Ft.  Worth Airport.

Many passengers on American Airlines, which has a hub in Dallas, learned of the cancellations early this morning.

"You're going to get there or you're not. Hopefully, we make some connections down the line that get us there anyway," said Dick Evenson, who was traveling with his family for a vacation to Portugal.
