Arkansas City Police are now reporting that the cards compromised by skimmers have been used in a nearby state.

The department shared on Twitter that the two people of interest wanted in connection to the skimmers may be in Houston., Texas. The card information stolen by skimming devices was used in Houston.

Police are asking for anyone who may have seen a red 2006 to 2010 Volkswagen Jetta with a paper license plate or it's occupants to call the Arkansas City Police Department at (620) 441-4444.

A skimmer is a device which is inserted into the card reader slot that steals data right off your card's magnetic strip. Police say if anyone's card information has been compromised, victims will be contacted.

Police say two skimmers were found on two ATM machines in Arkansas City and have released photos of two people of interest.

The department said on Facebook that they were notified about the skimming devices on Thursday. They did not provide the locations, saying that information will be released at a later date.

"With the help of our community partners, we were able to secure some pretty good surveillance pictures of people we would desperately like to talk to," the Facebook post says.

The car appears to be a red 2006 to 2010 Volkswagen Jetta with a paper license plate. Anyone who spots the people or vehicle in the pictures is asked to call the Arkansas City Police Department at (620) 441-4444.
