11 head of cattle killed in Kansas semi crash

OAK VALLEY, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities say 11 cows were killed when a cattle truck overturned in southeast Kansas on Wednesday.

The accident happened in the early-morning hours on Highway 160 near Oak Valley. That's in Elk County. The sheriff's office says semi was loaded with 90 head of cattle and it took crews most of the morning to get everything cleaned up.

The driver and passenger were not hurt. The sheriff's office didn't say how the semi crashed.
