Crews battle house fire in Riverside

Posted: Updated:

Wichita fire officials say one person was hospitalized following a house fire in Riverside.

Crews were called at around 6 p.m. Wednesday to a fire in the 1300 block of North Perry. Battalion Chief Doug Winter said they saw smoke emanating from the house when they arrived.

Rescuers were able to get everyone out of the house and quickly gained control of the flames.

A dispatch supervisor said one person had been hospitalized in critical condition. Winter later said that person's injuries were thought to be minor.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
