Salvation Army: Impostors going door-to-door asking for donations

Posted: Updated:
GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Salvation Army is warning residents after getting reports of two people going door-to-door and soliciting donations in Garden City.

The organization said Tuesday that the individuals have what appears to be a kettle and claim the money collected will go to The Salvation Army.

"The Salvation Army died not collect money door-to-door," said Capt. Jeff Curran, Garden City Community Center and Corps commander. "There are ten different Red Kettle locations across Garden City and we are more than happy to accept donations at any of those so people know their donations are benefiting people in need in our community."

Anyone who encounters the impostors is asked to call Garden City police at (620) 276-1300.
