WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A Wichita woman is in the Sedgwick County Jail, accused of animal cruelty.   Jail records show Carlett McPherson-Bey was arrested Saturday on one count of animal cruelty.

Wichita Police said they were called to a home in the 1000 block of North Poplar on November 16th.   Officers witnessed people beating a dog with a tire iron,  and allowing other dogs to attack the victim animal.   The dog was taken to a veterinarian's office where it died.

The investigation led to the arrest of McPherson-Bey.  She's being held on a $25,000 bond.
