Fire damages home in Park City

PARK CITY, Kan. (KAKE) -

Sedgwick County Fire District 1 firefighters say that no one was hurt in a house fire Sunday.

Witnesses say passersby noticed the flames and called 911 around 1pm in the 6300 block of N. Park View Dr..  They say the flames threatened a neighboring home, but put it out using garden hoses.

When firefighters arrived they found smoke and fire coming from outside the home.  They say the fire started on the outside of the home, but quickly burned into the interior, destroying the house.

No one was home at the time, but firefighters found a family dog in the backyard.  Fire investigators believe the fire may have started in the dog house, sparked by an unknown heat element, but have not released an official cause.
