Christmas in a Box seeking donations

Local businesses are asking for help in collecting donations for a charity event that supports our troops overseas.

NCRI (National Catastrophe Restoration, Inc.) is teaming up with KFDI and Volunteer Kansas again this year for the Christmas in a Box packing event. 

Christmas in a Box is an annual event where many volunteers and local businesses come together and make care packages for our troops overseas. Participants are asked to donate items like Christmas decorations, toiletries, socks, snacks, money for postage and cards.

The event is open to the public and will take place on November 14, 2018 from 11am-2pm at NCRI located at 8447 E. 35th St. N in Wichita, KS.

The limit for volunteers has been reached, but donations are still down according to volunteerkansas.org

Monetary (checks must be made out to Volunteer Kansas) and package donations are appreciated and may be dropped off at NCRI (8447 E. 35th St. N.) during regular business hours. Items needed include:

  • Hard candies
  • Beef jerky
  • Nuts, pretzels and chips in hard packages like Pringles
  • Christmas decorations
  • Comic or crossword puzzle books
  • Hot beverage mixes
  • Energy bars
