Three vehicles strike same deer on Kansas Turnpike

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KAKE) -

A deer is to blame for an accident that damaged three vehicles on the Kansas Turnpike.   It happened Thursday evening west of Lawrence.

Turnpike authorities said two pickup trucks struck the deer,  then a car struck the same animal.    The impact left the car disabled in the roadway and the driver injured.

Deer breeding season is underway which leads to an increase in vehicle-deer crashes.  The Kansas Highway Patrol reminds drivers to look for deer near the roadways, especially at the peak movement times of dawn and dusk.
