WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Police are looking for a suspect who stole a purse from a car at the Keeper of the Plains.

Emily Pittman and her kids went for a walk Sunday afternoon. She locked her purse in the trunk of her car. When they finished their walk, they came back to find her car window smashed and her purse gone. The thief had already used her credit cards to buy cigarettes and gas.

Police are seeing car break-ins all over the city. They recommend locking your cars, taking everything out of them and keep an eye on your surroundings.

Pittman says she recognizes the thief from the security pictures. She said he was watching her when she put her purse in the car.

If you have any information on the case, call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
