Maize man blows hole in neighbor's trampoline with homemade firework, police say

MAIZE, Kan. (KAKE) -

Maize police say a 34-year-old man threw a homemade firework in his neighbor's yard, blowing a hole in their trampoline. 

The incident happened at around 7:30 p.m. on Halloween in the 800 block of Plantation, near Maize Middle School. Police say Aaron Letourneau threw the firework into a neighbor's backyard and the explosion scared the family in the home and blew a hole through the their trampoline, causing $250 in damage.

There were children in the home at the time. No injuries were reported.

Letourneau was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail arson, criminal use of explosives and disorderly conduct. He was held Thursday on $25,000 bond.

Maize police will present the case to the district attorney on Friday.
