WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police are investigating after a 13-year-old girl says a man tried to get her in his car while she was walking home from school.

Officers were called at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday to a home in the 1500 block of North Chautauqua. The girl told officers she was walking home near 14th and Erie when a black car pulled up beside her and the man inside threatened her if she didn't get into the car.

Officer Charley Davidson said the teen ran home and called police.

She described the suspect as a thin, light-skinned black man in his 50s. He was wearing thin-framed glasses and a green, flat-billed baseball cap. He was driving a newer-model black 4-door Chevy Impala or Audi A6.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.
