WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police officers will conduct a DUI checkpoint this weekend.

Officer Charley Davidson said the checkpoint will run from 11 p.m. Saturday until 3 a.m. Sunday. The location was not disclosed.

"Officers will briefly stop motorists to check their driver’s license, proof of insurance and seat belt usage," Davidson said. "Those motorists who are not in compliance or are suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be detained for further evaluation.  It is anticipated that the average motorist will not experience any excessive delay at the checkpoint."

The checkpoint is in partnership with the Kansas Highway Patrol, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Management and the Kansas DUI Victim Center, Davidson said.

Wichita police held a checkpoint last month and made 28 arrests. More on that story here
