2 raids in Wichita yield drugs, guns, cash and arrests

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say two search warrants executed in the city on Thursday resulted in five arrests and the seizure of drugs, guns and cash.

The first warrant was at a home near Parkdale and Lantana, which is near 29th Street North and Maize Road. Officer Charley Davidson said that the department's Special Investigations Bureau was acting on a tip from the community.

Officers seized 25 pounds of marijuana, two rifles and two handguns, which were not stolen, and over $200,000 in cash. Tony Nguyen, 31, was arrested for unlawful cultivation or distribution of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

The second warrant was executed at a home in the 1800 block of Glen Oaks Drive, near Pawnee and Southeast Boulevard. Officer Davidson said investigators had receive a tip from the community and that the warrant resulted in four arrests and the seizure of 10 grams of meth and 28 ounces of marijuana.

Arrests in that case are below. Two were identified though booking records.

  • 44-year-old man for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia
  • 33-year-old man for possession of marijuana
  • 35-year-old Darian Koehne for possession of meth, marijuana and paraphernalia
  • 37-year-old Helena Woodward for possession of meth and paraphernalia
