It's official: Ranzau wins tight Co. Commission race

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Sedgwick County Commissioner Richard Ranzau has survived a tough challenge in his primary. 

Results of the 4th District GOP race were made official this afternoon.    Ranzau defeated Hugh Nicks by 75 votes, 3513 to 3438.

Nicks requested and paid for a recount earlier this week.

Ranzau now goes on to face Lacey Cruse in the November general election.

A candidate in the GOP primary for Sedgwick County Commission has requested a recount.

Hugh Nicks lost to incumbent Richard Ranzau by 75 votes in the 4th District primary, according to official results released by the county on Tuesday. 

Ranzau trailed August 7 until late in the evening when he pulled ahead to win 3455 votes to 3368. Those numbers were revised to 3,513 and 3,438 respectively after provisional and disputed ballots were tallied.
