Bank wants to foreclose on Towne West Square

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wells Fargo is looking to foreclose on Towne West Square in Wichita, alleging the company failed to make payments toward a $51 million loan.

Court documents show the bank filed suit Tuesday against Towne West Square LLC, seeking more than $45 million in loan principal, $220,000 in interest and nearly $62,000 in advances and fees.

The document states the loan was secured in May of 2011.

Towne West is owned by Washington Prime Group, a a spin-off from Simon Property Group, according to the company's website. The mall, located at 4600 West Kellogg, is home to dozens of retailers, but some of the retails space is vacant.
