Robber points gun at thrift store owner

Wichita Police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery that happened on Monday morning.

The owner of the Second Hand Rose Thrift Store, at the corner of Second and Seneca, was robbed around 10 a.m.

"Very scary. There's nothing you can do. You're at his mercy. Basically, we were unarmed here but he had a jump on me anyways," said Chuck Presley, owner.

Surveillance cameras caught the moments when the suspect walked through the front doors and immediately pointed a gun at Presley.

"I opened the register, telling him to put the gun down, just take the money and go. He grabbed the money and wanted me to turn around and there was no way I was going turn around. He could shoot me like a man if he wanted to shoot me," said Presley.

Other business cameras show the suspect walking and then running away from the area.

"People have come in here before and if they don't have money for something, we've given them little things. For someone to come in here and take $60 and hold a gun at someone's head, that's just not right," said Yvette Wells, Presley's niece.

Wells posted the photos of the suspect on social media and her post has been shared nearly three thousand times.

If you recognize the man, call police or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.
