Build-A-Bear says all lines for its "Pay Your Age Day" have been closed following a huge turnout to the company's first-ever event.

"Per local authorities, we cannot accept additional Guests at our locations due to crowds and safety concerns. We have closed lines in our U.S. and Canada stores. We understand some Guests are disappointed and we will reach out directly as soon as possible," the company announced on Facebook.

The Build-A-Bear Workshop in Wichita is located in Towne East Square.

Attention parents and grandparents: The Build-A-Bear experience is about to get a lot less expensive — at least for one day.

All Build-A-Bear Workshops will host the first-ever 'Pay Your Age Day' on Thursday, July 12. Guests will be able to pay their current age in dollars to create a new furry friend. The promotion includes popular licensed characters, including those from the Star Wars and Trolls franchises.

The top price is capped off at $29, meaning anyone 30 or older will still pay $29 to take home a new stuffed creation.

The catch:  Parents or guardians over age 18 need to enroll in the Build-A-Bear Bonus Club rewards program and provide a name and email address. Customers are encouraged to sign up online before Thursday.

The Build-A-Bear Workshop in Wichita is located in Towne East Square. The only other Kansas location is at Oak Park Mall in Overland Park.
