Woman killed, teens hurt in head-on crash in Kansas

PARSONS, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities say a 56-year-old woman died and two teens were hospitalized after a head-on collision in southeast Kansas.

The crash happened at around 6:15 a.m. Thursday about 12 miles north of Parsons. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Carla Myers was heading north on Queens Road when her Toyota Prius veered left of center and struck an oncoming Ford pickup. 

Myers died at the scene. 

The 17-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger in the Ford were transported to separate hospitals for treatment. An 18-year-old in the pickup was not hurt.

Myers was from Parsons, as are the two passengers in the pickup. The driver is from Walnut.
