Kellogg & I-235 ramp closed until October

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Drivers may face traffic trouble at a major interchange in west Wichita.

Early Tuesday morning, construction crews closed the west-bound ramp that connects drivers from Kellogg to north-bound I-235.

The ramp will remain closed as a new ramp is being built. The closure will last until October. Other ramps closed in the area are expected to re-open late this year as well.

Until then, drivers are encouraged to take the south-bound exit on I-235. They should drive to the K-42 exit, and then reconnect to north-bound I-235. This adds about three extra miles to a person’s drive, which will likely add at least six minutes to a person’s commute.

The overall project for the interchange will wrap up next summer.
