Bicyclist struck by vehicle in west Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A bicyclist is seriously hurt after being struck by a vehicle in west Wichita.

The accident happened around noon Sunday near Central and Woodchuck.

Sedgwick County EMS Division Leader Mike Brewer told KAKE News the cyclist was a 56-year-old man. Brewer said that the victim was temporally pinned underneath the vehicle, but had been rescued prior to EMS arriving on scene. He also said the cyclist sustained a serious injury to his leg.

We reached out to Wichita Police for more information but haven't heard back. The name of the victim hasn't been released.
