WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A Wellington man who stole donations for a young burn victim has been sentenced to probation.

Judge Eric Commer also ordered Martin Kerr to repay more than $7,000.   Kerr, 39, pleaded guilty to one count of felony theft.  He was accused of taking money from a GoFundMe account that had been set up for a Haysville girl who was burned in September, 2015.  Judge Commer said more than 100 people donated to the fund.  The money was supposed to help the girl and her family pay for expenses.

Kerr is ordered to repay $150 a month for the next five years.  Kerr could face six months in prison is he doesn't follow the requirements of probation.
