WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is coming to town.

The restaurant broke ground Tuesday at 619 South Ridge Road, the site of the old Palace West theater which was demolished last month.

The 10,000 square-foot restaurant will sit 180 patrons and will employ 175 full- and part-time employees, the company said in a news release.

"All Cracker Barrel stores have antique Americana decor on the walls, which our decor Team customizes to the local communities," the release said. "The team has begun researching Wichita and will be selecting the antique decor leading up to opening."

The west Wichita location is the fifth Cracker Barrel in Kansas. The first opened in Topeka in 1994, and the last was in Junction City in 1998. There are also Cracker Barrels in Park City and Olathe.
