Man killed in motorcycle crash in Reno County

ARLINGTON, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Reno County sheriff says speed appears to be a factor in a motorcycle crash that killed a 24-year-old man on Sunday.

Deputies and emergency crews were called at around 6 p.m. to the report of a single motorcycle accident at Arlington and Fairview roads, just east of Arlington. Sheriff Randy Henderson said on Facebook that Jesse Suppes lost control of the motorcycle and went off the roadway. He died at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation, but Sheriff Henderson said speed and unfamiliarity with the curves in the area appear to be contributing factors. Suppes, of Buhler, was not wearing a helmet.

Sunday's crash was the second fatal motorcycle accident in Reno County in the last two weeks.
