Officer saves woman from burning restaurant in north Wichita

A Wichita Police officer suffers minor injuries after rescuing a woman from a fire at a north Wichita restaurant.

The fire started inside Rositizeria Los Reyes restaurant in the 500 block of W. 21st Street around 9 p.m.

The officer was driving past the resident when he saw one woman running from the building. She told police her sister was still inside of the business, that's when the officer broke into the building and found the second woman on fire. He quickly patted her down and got her out of the building.

Both women were taken to St. Francis and are still in critical condition.

The officer suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Two people have been found inside a home with critical burns in north Wichita.

Dispatchers confirm two people were taken from a home near the 500 block of 21st st N. and transported to a local hospital.

Police are on scene investigating. Details on how the victims suffered the burns have not been released.
