One person dead after shooting in south Wichita

Police are investigating a homicide that occurred in south Wichita.

At approximately 4:50 P.M. Tuesday, police responded to a call in regards to a shooting near the 2900 block of south Sayles.

Upon arriving, officer's found a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound, to the upper part of his body inside a home.   

Emmitt Olson was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The suspect in the shooting has not been found and no further details have been released.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 911 or crime stoppers at 316-267-2111.
