Transportation employee's purse, SUV stolen at gunpoint

Posted: Updated:

Sunday morning, a woman was robbed at gunpoint at Transporte Rodriguez near 21st and Waco.

Silvia Leyva says it was around 6:45 a.m. when a man pulled a gun on her after she arrived at work and took her purse before taking off in her silver 2004 Buick Rendezvous SUV.

She says it was one of the scariest moments of her life, but she's thankful she walked away uninjured.

Leyva says the man wasn't alone; she said another man acted as the getaway driver.

Now, she’s asking the community to keep their eyes and ears open to help find her SUV and the suspects.

"She was going to work, she got to work, and as soon as she walked in there, her job, a man followed her inside with a gun, pointed and asked her for money and everything she had,” said Leyva’s close friend and translator Eduardo Pacheco. "He got out with her purse, he took the car keys, he took the car and left. She was real scared because she saw the gun and she didn't know what to do or how to react.”

Again, the vehicle is a silver 2004 Buick Rendezvous SUV with Kansas tags 834EEP.

If you see this vehicle or have any information, please call Crime Stoppers at (316) 267 -2111.
