Man dies after crashing motorcycle into forklift loader in west Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Police say a man has died after he crashed his motorcycle into a forklift loader in west Wichita. 

The accident happened at around 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 4500 block of West Irving, near Kellogg and I-235. Sgt. Bill Stevens with the Wichita Police Department said the motorcycle rider attempted to pass the loader and collided with the forks on the loader.

The 42-year-old man on the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital where he later died. He was identified as Mathew Froehlich. 

The crash is under investigation. The man's death is Wichita's 8th vehicle fatality of 2018.
