Local church searching for stolen crucifix given to Priest

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Church of the Blessed Sacrament posted on their Facebook page on Tuesday of a beloved crucifix that was stolen from the altar.

The crucifix was placed on the casket of Father Drew's older brother Dominic after he passed away.

When Father Drew became a priest, his parents gave him the crucifix along with a note that read, "every time you celebrate Mass, remember Dominic."

The post states that the crucifix, which has always remained on the altar of the church, went missing on March 6.

The Church is asking anyone with information to send them a message.

They also pleaded that whoever stole the crucifix to bring it back and that "no questions will ever be asked."

KAKE news reached out to the church who says, "let's hope that someone brings it back!"
