Search continues for missing Lucas Hernandez

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

It’s been three weeks since Lucas Hernandez was reportedly last seen and the public is not letting this case slip through the cracks like so many others.

A public search is planned for Sunday morning, near 29th and Oliver, in the area directly across from Chisholm Creek Park.

The Finding Lucas group said Emily Glass’s phone pinged in the area shortly before Lucas was reported missing.

KAKE News has learned EquuSearch will be back next week to do another search.

EquuSearch is the nationally known group that has worked on high profile missing persons cases.

Last week, the group had to leave Wichita early.

We will gather more information on when they will be arriving and let you know as soon as that becomes available.

More new information - Missing Pieces Network, a national missing persons non-profit, has asked more people to get involved in the search.

The group wants all landowners within a 30-mile radius of Wichita to survey any land, wooded areas, ponds, outbuildings, vehicles and trailers that can be safely accessed.

The group says observant landowners have been immensely helpful in past missing persons cases.

Wichita police said if you’re out helping with these search parties and find anything suspicious, don't touch it and contact the authorities at 316-383-4661.
