The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 63-year-old semi driver died after he suffered a medical condition and crashed in McPherson County.

It happened at around 2 p.m. Wednesday about 12 miles north of McPherson on Interstate 135. The patrol reports Roger Bloyd was heading north when he suffered a medical condition and struck a guardrail.

The semi continued into a ditch and through a KDOT fence before coming to rest in a wheat field. Bloyd, of Salina, was pronounced dead at the scene.
