Kansas man sentenced to 14 years for child rape

NESS CITY, Kan. (KAKE) -

A Kansas man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for raping a 13-year-old girl.

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said 24-year-old Jason Anthony Crawford, formerly of Utica, pleaded no contest in September to one count of rape and two counts of attempted aggravated solicitation of a child.

Chief Judge Bruce Gatterman sentenced Crawford to 168 months in prison. Crawford is also subject to lifetime post-release supervision and sex offender registration.

The crimes occurred between September 2012 and March 2013.

The Kansas Public Offender Registry lists Crawford as living in Norton as of January 3.
