Police search for suspect who dragged officer during traffic stop

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita Police are searching for a suspect who dragged an officer during a traffic stop in southwest part of town.

An officer pulled over a vehicle in the 1400 block of S. Wichita around 9 p.m. Investigators say the officer got into an altercation with the male driver when the officer attempted to take suspect into custody. That's when the suspect was able to drive off with the officer hanging onto the car door, crashing into two parked cars before climbing out of the sunroof. 

The officer was able to pull himself into the vehicle before the suspect crashed into the parked vehicles, avoiding any serious injury. Authorities say the 24-year -old female passenger was taken into custody and was booked on drug possession and obstruction. Police are still searching for the male suspect.
