Wichita State tickets on high demand

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Wichita State University men's basketball tickets are on high demand this weekend.

No. 11 Wichita State will play against No. 10 Cincinnati Bearcats on Sunday, but the game has been sold out.

Now, people are trying to re-sell their tickets online and some are even asking for nearly $1,000 on StubHub.

"It tells you how exciting it is to have Shockers here and what a great team that we have, and how it's a hot ticket to have. Everybody wants it," said Melissa Smith, parent.

Although tickets are averaging about $200, police said buyers should use caution when using online sites, where the buyer does not know the seller.

"Any time they're buying stuff on the internet or using Craigslist or something like that, you're going to put yourself at risk of potentially being out a lot of money, and then being upset that your ticket is actually not a valid ticket for that game," said Sgt. Santiago Hungria, Wichita Police.

The game tips off on Sunday at 11 a.m. and will be televised on CBS.
