WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Recent social media comments brought Wichita Police officers to a local middle school this afternoon.

The officers were dispatched to Hadley Middle School at dismissal time as a precaution.  Hadley Principal Amy Johnson said there were no issues today.

In a letter to Hadley parents, Johnson said, "during the past week we have had students make jokes or post social media comments regarding the safety of Hadley...We have fully investigated to ensure the safety of our students and staff."

Johnson added, "Parents, this is a great time to talk with your children about what they post on social media and especially what they share, which can perpetuate rumors."

Hadley will hold a normal school day tomorrow.
