Salina Police search for shooting suspect

SALINA, Kan. -

Salina Police are searching a suspect in connection to a shooting.

Officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 100 block of N. Front Street in Salina. Investigators later determined 36-year-old Darren Jackson was the shooter.

Jackson is facing aggravated battery, robbery and kidnapping charges.

He's described as being 5 ft 11 in. tall , roughly 198 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

    The Wichita Police Department needs help finding a missing child. 11-year-old Joan Ibarra was last seen Thursday at Hamilton Middle School at 1407 South Broadway. It is believed that he walked away around 10:15 a.m.  Ibarra is a Hispanic male, around 4'8", 80 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants, and a gray sweater.  Please call 911 with any information. The case number is 18C080719.

    One of the city's biggest charities kicked off its annual holiday event Thursday.  Operation Holiday helps distribute boxes filled with food, clothes, and blankets to families in need.  Hundreds stood in line today to pick-up their donated items. Operation Holiday organizers expect to help some 14,000 people this year.
