Wichita police are looking for a suspect in a robbery that occurred early Tuesday morning at a Sonic.

The robbery occurred around 6:15 a.m. at a Sonic located at the corner of 135th and Maple.

The suspect, a white male wearing a blue hoodie, dark pants, gloves and a black ski mask walked into the Sonic and ordered food. After he was given his food, he followed an employee to the back of the store and forced her to open the safe. 

The suspect retrieved money from the safe and then locked the employee in the freezer. A cook ran out the back door and called 911.

The suspect fled the scene and headed west.

Police believe that the suspect could be connected to other robberies that have occurred within the last several months.

Taco Bell in the 2400 block of S. Seneca was robbed October 24, 2017.

Sonic at the 8600 block of W. Maple robbed on November 5, 2017 and Jimmy Johns located near 21st and Maize on November 19, 2017.
