Wichita State baseball got off to a big start in the season opener Friday night at McNeese State.

Greyson Jenista scored the first run of the season with a solo home run to right center, fellow pre-season All-American Alec Bohm tacked on a grand slam in the outing.

The game was postponed with one out in the ninth inning due to heavy fog, but was resumed Saturday morning as WSU went on to a 10-7 win.

In game two the bats remained hot. Gunner Troutwine posted a two-run home run and Bohm went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and two doubles in an 11-2 series-clinching victory.

The Shockers will go for a series sweep Sunday afternoon.
