Man robs Walgreens in west Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Walgreens in west Wichita.

The robbery was reported just after 12:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Walgreens at 555 North Maize Road, just south of Central. A employee told arriving officers that the suspect entered the business and walked to the pharmacy while pointing a handgun. He then ordered the employee to give him numerous medications.

The suspect was last seen running from the business. The employee was not hurt.

Officer Paul Cruz described the suspect as a black man in his 20s or 30s. He stands about 6-foot-1 and was wearing a gray hoodie, gray sweatpants, white shoes and a gray hat with a round white logo and black lettering.
