Police arrest second suspect in deadly Wichita shooting

Wichita police have arrested a second suspect in connection to a deadly shooting on Sunday. 

Jail records show 18-year-old Lascottric Yarbrough was booked Tuesday evening for first-degree murder in commission of a felony, aggravated robbery and criminal possession of a firearm. 

The suspect on Monday was booked into juvenile detention for murder and other charges.

The shooting happened at around 9 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Pineridge, near Lincoln and Edgemoor. Lt. Todd Ojile said the 18-year-old victim was in a home with three other people when suspects knocked on the door.

"When they went to answer the door, three or four unknown suspects entered the residence...armed with handguns," Lt. Ojile said. "The 18-year-old victim and one of the suspects got into a physical confrontation. Shots were fired, striking and killing the victim."

The victim's was identified as Donte Devore. An online fund has been established to help his family.

Investigators are working to identify the other suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.

Sunday's shooting was Wichita's fifth homicide of 2018.

An 18-year-old man has died following a shooting in south Wichita.

It happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday near Lincoln and Edgemoor. Officers arrived to find a man with gunshot wounds inside of a home.

He was rushed to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police are now talking with neighbors to figure out all that led up to the incident.
