GODDARD, Kan. (KAKE) -

There's been another setback for a proposed hotel and aquatic center in Goddard.

On its Facebook page, the City of Goddard said the project developer, S&O investments, is out of project.

S&O had planned to build a 100-room hotel, aquatic center, water park, sports fields and retail stores on the property on West Kellogg.

In its Facebook post,  the City of Goddard said it remains committed to the project and is searching for a new developer.

The City of Goddard's STAR bond development project is moving forward, but it will not involve S & O Investments, Inc. ("S & O"). The City is without a doubt disappointed in this latest development. The City nevertheless remains committed to this project, which includes nearly $30 Million in STAR bond proceeds, and desires to see it completed on terms that are fiscally responsible for the taxpayers of Goddard. This project will bring jobs to the City, spur economic growth, and deliver many of the amenities that residents have been requesting for many years. The City looks forward to working with the master developer, Goddard Destination Development, Inc., to identify a new hotel developer to build and operate a first-class regional attraction that will better the lives of the residents of Goddard.
