18 dead geese found in northeast Kansas

Kansas Game Wardens are asking the public for help in an illegal bird dumping that occurred earlier this week.

Atchinson County Game Warden was contacted by the Kansas Highway Patrol who reported 18 geese were found dead at a KDOT mixing strip.

“Our Game Warden investigated and found that these 18 geese had no meat taken and were left to waste as a result,” authorities said in a Facebook post.

The Kansas Game warden suspects that the geese were dumped sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday evening.

Officials have not had any leads in the investigation and are asking the public to contact Operation Game Theif at (877) 426-3843 with any information.
