Friends guard Jordan Murdock named NAIA Player of the Week

Posted: Updated:

Friends guard Jordan Murdock was named the NAIA Player of the Week after averaging 40 points, 13 rebound and 3.5 assists in their two games last week.

Murdock was already named KCAC Player of the Week for the fifth time. He scored a career high 45 points against McPherson, before scoring 35 against York College.

The former Hutch Blue Dragon and Southeast Golden Buffalo averages 30 points for the season, the highest in NAIA.

After also registering 16 double-doubles this season already, it's no mystery what player Murdock models his game after.

"Everybody that knows me knows I'm a LeBron guy, so that's pretty much my guy right there," Murdock said. "I try to attack the rim and just be active and make other guys on the other team accountable for me especially on the offensive boards, just making sure I go crash. Scoring just comes. My teammates help me out a lot it's just a bonus."

The Falcons, under head coach Dale Faber, who picked up his 250th career victory at Friends in Saturday’s win over York, will next face a key matchup at Kansas Wesleyan University tomorrow night (Feb. 7) starting at 8 pm in Salina, Kan.

Along with No. 20-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University, KWU is tied for the second spot in the KCAC with the Falcons at 12-6 in the league.
