A new study says that a chemical found in McDonald's fries may be the cure for baldness.

The chemical is added to the fries to keep the cooking oil from frothing up. KGO-TV reports scientists from Japan tested the chemical on mice and regrew hair.

The scientists say it's the first time they have mass produced "hair follicle germs" with this method. The next step could be try it on human skin cells.

McDonald's has not commented on the study.
