Kansas sheriff's office to block social media access

ALLEN COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) -

A Kansas sheriff's office says it will block access to Facebook and other social media applications due to its misuse within their jurisdiction.

The Allen County Sheriff's Office posted a 30-day notice to its Facebook page on Monday, saying social media access will be blocked between February 28 and March 1.

"We have had enough of the craziness and this is our first step in dealing with the situation," the sheriff's office said. "We hope it sends the message about the power of social media and how it affects people's lives."

And just so you know, there are no days between February 28 and March 1 this year.
