LAWRENCE, Kan. (KAKE) -

University of Kansas police say a man showed up several times at the men's basketball dorm on Wednesday to give a player some free-throw advice.

They responded to the call at around 3:30 p.m. But when officers arrived at McCarthy hall, the man had already left, the Lawrence Journal-World reports. He was not a KU student.

The Journal-World says radio traffic indicated the man --  who was wearing a blue and red windbreaker -- showed up multiple times before police were called.

The incident comes one day after Kansas' 85-80 loss to Oklahoma.

University police said the intended recipient of the man's free-throw advice was not disclosed, but in the final minutes of Tuesday's Jayhawks-Sooners game in Norman, Oklahoma intentionally fouled Udoka Azubuike, a 41-percent free throw shooter coming in, several times. He missed all five of his free throws in the final 3:37 to help the Sooners get back into the game.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
